Also note that in the case of a Burm, a single prey item equal to it's girth is pretty much starving it anyway. A Burm is a giant snake with a fast metabolism and an appetite to match it's size.
There is no way to keep a Burmese healthy and small at the same time, it's one or the other. It's also worth taking into account that an underfed Burm is a really pissy Burm and is not going to be fun to be around at all. Do you really want to have to deal with a 9ft (at least) bad tempered snake? It's still capable of killing you at that size so you stand to gain absolutely nothing by underfeeding it. Much better to have a happy healthy giant than to torture an animal because it suits your requirements.
If you don't think you could house, feed and handle a 15ft 200lb+ snake then the Giants are not for you. It really is that simple.
