Listen, if you like the corn, negotiate a better price based on it's temper (remember, they know they would probably be glad to unload it, since with that attitude it might sit around there for a long time eating up their mice!) and get it.
Corns almost always settle down - I say almost only because i never say never, but i have NEVER seen a corn, wild caught or otherwise, that didnt tame down with time and handling.
