##Go listen to some blues at the Checkerboard Lounge, 423 E. 43rd St. on the South Side. *Bad* **BAD** neighborhood, but the music is tops. Take a cab. I spent four years in college about ten blocks away.
##Skip the Sears tower. If you need to go up a tall building, try the Hancock building, which overlooks a more interesting part of the skyline, in my opinion.
##Take in a ball game.
##Go to the Art Institute, and check out the Ivan Albright painting "Things I Should Have Done, I Did Not Do."
##visit the Oriental Institute (near & far Eastern antiquities) at the University of Chicago, and imagine you are Indiana Jones.
##take a walk or a jog along the lake in Lincoln Park.
##eat really good Ethiopian food at Mama Desta's on Clark St., a couple blocks north of Belmont, and be sure to wash it down with a jug of tej, the honey wine they brew in the back.
##eat a stuffed pizza at Giordanos.
##hang out at the Green Mill until last call and feel just like Tom Waits.
##visit Harold's Chicken Shack.
##let me know how it went!
