First find of the season
So there I am, several beers into a good game of poker. It's Florida, so it's excessively humid out, but since we don't smoke inside at my friends house, the porch will have to do. At least it's screened in. I've got pocket aces, and another one came up on the flop. I'm thanking my outrageous luck, but clearly underestimating it. Right as I'm getting ready to raise, one of the chicks (I know, I know...chicks at a poker game...don't get me started) screams and yells "Oh my god, a snake just crawled over my foot!" Panic ensues, I quickly ID it as a corn (at night, with sunglasses on...see, I did learn something on the GA camping trip) pick it up, and promptly get bit. Panic continues. I explain that it's not venomous, and show that a snake that small (maybe 10") doesn't even draw blood when it bites. After getting everyone calmed back down, I then got into about a 2 hr. long Q&A about snakes and managed to change a few minds.
So anyway...those of you who know my personal stance on egg layers, prepare to snicker. She came home with me. I'll post pix as soon as I get access to a camera.
