A heftier price tag would mean the difference between buying a healthy animal, and buying an animal from the above store that is most likely sick.

The real sad thing is though Bry that store is ANYTHING but cheap. When I was looking to buy my first snake I went there. if I recall correctly their boas were tiny and they wanted I think $140-160.00 for a common BCI, the Ball pythons were sickly looking and they still wanted i think $90.00 for them. And as was Stated they know absolutely nothing about the animals, nor did they have caresheets for them.
If you are looking for a good pet store for herps. Chicago Reptile House in Orland park is real good, they know their information on their stuff, and fairly reasonably priced. I have also heard good things about Glenn Ellyn Pet Center (Never been there though)
So you can't really go by price of animals when going to look for herps. You really have to take a good look at the whole store, and see how they care for their animals.
